This dashboard showcases a slice of the live metrics behind the Pentanet network (AS10214) — subscribers, edge traffic, upstream capacity, NBN POIs, latency and DNS. It is meant to be fun and a little lighthearted, but also to show off some of what makes our network tick — and we hope it invites a bit of curiosity and excitement about how the internet actually reaches you.

Built by Pentanet's Network and Technology teams — the engineers who run AS10214 — and drawn from the same Grafana, Akvorado, Zabbix and InfluxDB stack we use day to day. Live data, no spin, no curation.

Peering refers to traffic sourced from Internet Exchange Point (IXP) peers. PNI refers to Private Network Interconnect — dedicated high-capacity links directly into providers like Akamai, Google and Amazon. Transit refers to traffic coming from upstream providers. A high ratio of peering and PNI traffic to transit traffic means a well-connected network.

▸ DNS POWERDNS RECURSORS · QUESTIONS PER SECOND

If your DNS is broken, your internet service is functionally broken too - we run two PowerDNS recursors per site and anycast both resolver IPs via BGP to all edge/border routers (selective AS-path prepends prefer the primary while preserving automatic failover if a recursor or upstream path fails). We also perform regular security patching and updates, with monitoring and alerting for service health and performance.
